Strike Up the Band is the first new studio album from Little Feat in over a decade. The current lineup features longtime members Bill Payne, Fred Tackett, and Kenny Gradney, joined by Scott Sharrard (Gregg Allman Band) and Tony Leone (Oteil & Friends, Midnight Ramble Band). The record leans into a mix of swampy rock, blues, and Southern soul, anchored by tight playing and a clear sense of chemistry.
They’ve brought some friends along too—Bonnie Raitt guests on “Long Distance Call,” and regular Feat contributor Sam Clayton adds percussion throughout. Highlights like “You’ll Be Mine” and “Can’t Be Satisfied” capture the band’s vintage groove without sounding like a throwback. It’s a solid reminder of why this band still matters, 50-plus years in.
