Released in 2012 after an extended hiatus, Battle Born marked The Killers’ return with their fourth studio album and a renewed focus on heartland rock anthems. Recorded primarily at the band’s own studio in Las Vegas—also named Battle Born—the album takes its title from the Nevada state motto and captures the expansive, wide-eyed Americana that has long colored the band’s sound.
The album features production contributions from a range of heavy hitters including Steve Lillywhite, Brendan O'Brien, Stuart Price, Daniel Lanois, and Damian Taylor. The result is a polished, sometimes cinematic listen, anchored by tracks like "Runaways" and "Miss Atomic Bomb" that channel both Springsteen’s grandeur and the band’s own synth-driven ambition. While the sessions began tentatively, the final product stands as a bold, reflective record that bridges the band’s early energy with a more mature perspective.
