Absolute Elsewhere is the fourth studio album by American death metal band Blood Incantation, released on October 4, 2024, through Century Media. Named after the progressive rock group Absolute Elsewhere, the album was recorded at Hansa Tonstudio in Berlin, with Arthur Rizk producing. Blood Incantation hired an extra €9,000 worth of synth equipment to shape its expansive sound. Vocalist and guitarist Paul Riedl describes the record as "the soundtrack to a Herzog-style sci-fi epic via a '70s prog album played by a '90s death metal band from the future."
The album features two tracks, both over 20 minutes, divided into three sections each and running over 43 minutes in total. Released with a short film for "The Stargate" and a 73-minute documentary, All Gates Open: In Search Of Absolute Elsewhere, the album has received universal acclaim. It scored a 92 on Metacritic, making it one of the highest rated albums of 2024. Critics praised it as an ambitious and genre-bending journey, mixing death metal, progressive metal, and progressive rock into something truly exceptional.
