Lamb of God is the self titled tenth studio album by Lamb of God, released in 2020 through Epic and Nuclear Blast. It marked the band’s first album in five years and the first to feature drummer Art Cruz following the departure of longtime member Chris Adler. Produced once again by Josh Wilbur, the record continued the band’s blend of groove metal, thrash, and aggressive modern metal songwriting.
Songs like “Memento Mori”, “New Colossal Hate”, and “Ghost Shaped People” balanced the band’s trademark riff driven heaviness with more atmospheric and melodic moments. Lyrically, the album reflected themes of anxiety, political division, mortality, and personal struggle, while still maintaining the intensity and precision the band had established across previous releases.
The album received strong reviews from critics and debuted at number 15 on the Billboard 200. Many reviews highlighted its focused songwriting and viewed it as a confident reaffirmation of the band’s sound following a period of lineup changes and uncertainty.
