NEW LP
New sealed copy.
Honora marks the first solo release from Flea, arriving in 2026 through Nonesuch. Produced by Josh Johnson, the album leans fully into Flea’s long standing connection to jazz, moving away from the funk driven framework that defined his work with Red Hot Chili Peppers. Across a concise set of originals and carefully chosen covers, he takes on lead vocals, bass, and trumpet, building a record that feels exploratory but grounded in ensemble playing.
The sessions bring together a wide circle of collaborators, including Thom Yorke and Nick Cave on guest vocals, alongside players like Jeff Parker, Anna Butterss, and Deantoni Parks. The material reflects a mix of influences, from jazz to soul and contemporary songwriting, with interpretations of work associated with Frank Ocean and George Clinton sitting comfortably beside Flea’s own compositions.
Rather than a side project in the traditional sense, Honora plays more like a personal statement. It draws on his musical instincts outside of rock, with a looser, more spacious approach that emphasizes feel and interaction over structure, while still carrying the melodic sensibility that has always been part of his playing.
