Cabin in the Sky is the ninth studio album by De La Soul, released on November 21, 2025. The record arrived two years after the death of group member Trugoy the Dove and includes previously unreleased vocal recordings from him, making it the group’s first album since his passing.
The project also marked a reunion with producer Prince Paul, who worked with the group on their earliest releases. Cabin in the Sky was issued as part of the “Legend Has It…” series from Mass Appeal Records, a collection of albums released in 2025 featuring artists connected to classic hip hop.
Upon release, the album received strong reviews from critics and was widely praised for balancing reflection on Trugoy’s legacy with the group’s trademark blend of inventive production and socially aware lyricism.
