Originally released in 1998 and celebrating its 25th anniversary last year, Moon Safari propelled Nicolas Godin and Jean-Benoît Dunckel to international acclaim. With over three million copies sold worldwide, the album established AIR as architects of a sound that blurred the lines between pop, ambient, and downtempo electronica. Tracks like “Sexy Boy,” “All I Need,” and “Kelly Watch the Stars” became emblematic of a new era—cinematic, emotive, and unapologetically lush.
AIR’s influence extended well beyond music, permeating design, film, and fashion with their distinct sonic palette.
