Greatest Hits is the first compilation album by Shania Twain, released on November 8, 2004 by Mercury Nashville. The album brings together seventeen of her biggest singles, including all seven of her number one hits on the Hot Country Songs chart, with several tracks presented in their crossover pop versions.
Alongside the established material, the release included three new songs recorded specifically for the compilation: “Party for Two,” “Don’t!,” and “I Ain’t No Quitter.” “Party for Two” became the most successful of the new tracks, reaching the top ten in multiple countries and continuing Twain’s run of radio friendly hits during that period.
The album was a major commercial success, debuting at number two on the Billboard 200 and topping the Top Country Albums chart. It went on to become one of the best selling country releases of the 2000s, earning multi platinum certifications in several territories and reinforcing Twain’s status as one of the most commercially successful artists in the genre.
