NEW DOUBLE LP
New sealed copy. 2017 30th anniversary remastered reissue on 180 gram vinyl.
Hysteria is the fourth studio album by Def Leppard, released on August 3, 1987 by Mercury Records. It followed the breakthrough success of Pyromania and was produced by Robert John Mutt Lange. The album’s creation stretched over three years and was shaped by significant challenges, including drummer Rick Allen’s 1984 accident and subsequent return to the band.
Musically, Hysteria refined the band’s blend of hard rock and pop, built around layered production, polished vocals, and a strong focus on hooks. It produced a string of major singles, including “Pour Some Sugar on Me,” “Love Bites,” “Animal,” and “Hysteria,” helping the album gain momentum well beyond its initial release period.
The album went on to become a massive global success, reaching number one in both the United States and the United Kingdom. With over 20 million copies sold worldwide, Hysteria stands as the band’s best selling release and remains one of the defining rock albums of the 1980s.
