Billy Corgan handled much of the sequencing, approaching the record as a carefully arranged mixtape rather than a conventional studio album.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe album moves between acoustic material, heavily distorted rock, and more psychedelic pieces, reflecting much of the range heard across the band's first two albums. Highlights include the stripped down \"Soothe,\" James Iha's \"Blew Away,\" the extended \"Starla,\" \"Hello Kitty Kat,\" \"Obscured,\" and a cover of Fleetwood Mac's \"Landslide.\"\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eDespite receiving little promotion, Pisces Iscariot reached number four on the Billboard 200, surpassing the peak of Siamese Dream, and was certified platinum in the United States.
