Throughout the record, Redding moves between energetic soul performances and slower, more reflective moments, highlighted by the ballad “Cigarettes and Coffee”.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe Soul Album reached the Billboard LP chart shortly after its release and remained on the listings for several months, while also performing strongly on the R and B albums chart.
