Produced by Nick Lowe and recorded at Pathway Studios in London, the album was completed across six short sessions with members of the American band Clover serving as the backing musicians. Tracks such as \"Alison,\" \"Less Than Zero,\" \"(The Angels Wanna Wear My) Red Shoes,\" and \"Mystery Dance\" balance concise arrangements with dense, often cutting lyrics.
