Produced and mixed by longtime collaborator Dom Monks, the album was recorded as a live band over three weeks at the Power Station in New York City. It is the band's first album without bassist and founding member Max Oleartchik, who departed in 2024, with the remaining members recording as a core three-piece.\u003cbr\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe band wrote 50 to 60 songs in preparation and initially planned a heavy rock album before abandoning that concept for a more collaborative approach. Ten session musicians contributed to the recording, including additional drummer Jon Nellen, backing vocalists Alena Spanger, Hannah Cohen, and June McDoom, and ambient pioneer Laraaji.
